Gifts of Stock
Mediation and Restorative Services accepts gifts of stock, which we sell immediately to support our work. Donors often obtain significant tax benefits by donating stock because under the current tax laws, you can avoid capital gains tax on the appreciation of donated stock and are entitled to a tax deduction of the full fair market value of the gift. We recommend that you consult a tax professional for specific advice about your situation.
In accordance with IRS regulations, you will receive an acknowledgement for tax purposes listing the number of shares donated and the value of the stock as of the date the shares are received in our account.
