Helping property owners and property managers, renters, and others, resolve their conflict.
All housing mediations are virtually and currently free to those in Minnesota.
What types of issues can we help with?
Want to create or maintain a good relationship with the other party? Communication is the foundation to productive relationships. Our free and virtual housing mediation services can be used proactively. We create the space to talk ground rules, expectations, needs, and more. This way if conflict happens in the future – you can move forward smoothly.
Not seeing eye to eye when it comes to repair and maintenance issues? If there is conflict or uncertainty about the timeline of repairs, determining who is responsible for certain repairs, or another issue, have a structured and supportive conversation through mediation.
Our professionally trained mediators have created payment plans in situations where the amount of unpaid rent has ranged from hundreds of dollars to situations where over ten thousand dollars of rent was owed. Payment plans can include a timeline, payment amounts, method of payment, and more. Participants are allowed to create a plan that works for them, with the support of mediators providing structure to the conversation. Payment plans can also be created for court fees or other fees, not just rent.
If a current housing arrangement is just not working out: eviction is not the only way forward. Move out plans can help property owners and property managers avoid the time and cost of filing an eviction in court, and can help renters avoid having an eviction on their record. In a mediation, both sides construct the move-out plan, together.
We also can help with neighbor-to-neighbor conflict, issues about pets, smoking, noise complaints and more. Our professionally trained mediators can provide the space and structure for you to work through these issues.
