When Harm is Caused…
Our Juvenile Diversion Program is a harm repair process provides support to the victim and the juvenille offender. It places key decisions about the repair process into the hands of those most affected. Goals include diverting youth away from the court system, reducing the likelihood of future offenses, and provide an alternative to repair harm that has been committed.
Victim-Offender Dialogue (VOD) is a process that brings together the victim and offender to speak about the harm that was experienced and its impact. This opportunity can increase understanding for both the victim and the offender. This process allows questions to be answered, so steps can be taken towards closure and healing.
During Circles To Repair Harm/Circles of Support, participants listen and speak in a circle for a better understanding of a situation where harm was caused. This process offers support to the person who caused harm and the person who experienced harm. Actions for repair are planned during this process.
