Learn how our FREE housing mediation services can help you quickly resolve conflict and improve communication with your renters!
Our trained mediators guide conversations between property owners and renters about the issues and needs of both sides. We help property owners or property managers communicate with their renters about past-due rent, maintenance issues, neighbor-to-neighbor conflict, and more. Material Violations of Lease Training (Virtual)
Tuesday, July 27th, 2021 at 10:00 AM CST
Presented by: Larry McDonough, Attorney at Law, Adjunct Professor of Law, University of Minnesota School of Law, Senior Minnesota Fellow, Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law
Now that the statewide eviction moratorium has come to an end, there is a lot of uncertainty and confusion over the timeline and different phases of the off-ramp. One major component of the off-ramp includes when a landlord can either terminate or evict a tenant over a material violation of the lease.
We encourage volunteer mediators, tenants, landlords, advocates, lawyers, and any other interested party to join us for this training!
Know Your Rights (For Tenants) (Virtual)
Tuesday, April 27th, 2021 at 10:00 AM CST
Housing attorney Larry McDonough and Rachael Sterling, COVID-19 Eviction Response Coordinator for HOME Line will discuss evictions during and after the pandemic, financial assistance, negotiating rent, housing repairs, privacy, and getting out of unaffordable leases.

The Humanistic Approach to Resolving Conflict (Virtual)
Tuesday, March 30th, 2021 at 10:00AM CST
Please join Mediation and Restorative Services (MARS) with special guest Mark Umbreit for this short, donation-based training (proceeds go to MARS).
“A humanistic approach to mediation and dialogue adds the human-element on all levels of a mediation process: mediators tune into their own human issues and capacities, parties tune into their own deeper humanity and the humanity of the other party, and consequently, the process itself is humanized through deepening, uninterrupted conversation.”
